The Maryland art education community is celebrating Rachel McGrain, Executive Director of Arts Education in Maryland Schools, who has been recognized with the Distinguished Service Outside the Profession Award to be presented at the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Convention this week.

The award honors individuals who have made a profound impact on arts education beyond the traditional classroom setting. McGrain’s leadership in advocating for equitable arts education policies and resources across Maryland has earned her this prestigious national recognition.
AEMS extends our deepest gratitude to the Maryland Art Education Association (MAEA) for nominating Rachel for this well-deserved honor. Her tireless work in supporting arts educators and ensuring that every Maryland student has access to high-quality arts education is truly inspiring.
