With Thanksgiving around the corner, AEMS is reflecting on the many hard-working, talented teachers across our state doing exciting and innovative work in arts education for whom we are thankful! However, many of these teachers lack the resources needed to fund even basic supplies for their students. Access to high-quality arts education is inequitable across the state, and we need your help to change that reality!
To show our gratitude throughout the month of November, AEMS will be showcasing Donors Choose projects for arts education supplies in individual classrooms across the state. Join us by contributing to these projects that will help teachers deliver the quality arts education their students deserve! See below for our first teacher feature.
Mrs. Yanez teaches 6-8th grade at White Oak Middle School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Her dance students are creative risk takers who are open to new ideas. Their passion for dance brings joy to their school. But can you imagine learning a dance routine or practicing choreography without music? Make these artists’ dreams come true by contributing to Mrs. Yanez’s fundraiser for a new speaker! The project is only $202 away from being fully funded.
