AEMS has been carefully monitoring recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and the Maryland Department of Health, as well as engaging in conversations with partner organizations to better understand the implications on our community. Although we don’t have the answers, we want to ensure that we are able to provide as much help as we can to our community. We are hopeful that this will pass but we know that there will be some challenges along the way.
Community is the only way. During tumultuous times, great things can happen. As humans, we have proven to be resilient during times of need and, as artists and arts leaders, we know that we are unable to progress and succeed without support and resources from one another. Since the beginning of the epidemic, we have come across a number of resources that might be particularly useful/helpful for you. Use this time as an opportunity to not only help yourself and your organization, but also help others in your communities.

We also encourage all Art Makers and Arts Organizations to tag your arts-related posts during the COVID-19 State of Emergency using the hashtag #MDArtsUnite. We want to see your resources, creative work, and more!
AEMS is here for you. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time about opportunities to support and amplify the work that you are doing. Let’s continue to support and uplift one another during this time and after. Individually, we are movement but together, we are a force.
Please take care of yourself and your loved ones.
Yours in Unity,
