AEMS Advocacy Guide

Whether it is through funding, accessibility, distribution of resources, or accountability, education policy has an affect on arts education in our schools. Too often, high-level education policies are developed without full consideration of their effect on schools and students. The AEMS Alliance works to change that by engaging the public in effective advocacy. Decision makers will continue to implement education policies whether or not we choose to engage them. It is up to us to help craft policies that support student learning in and through the arts.

The AEMS Advocacy Guide offers tips for marking an effective and efficient advocacy campaign. Parents, educators, artists, and administrators can all use the AEMS Advocacy Guide to actively advocate for local and statewide policies that ensure that every Maryland child has high-quality opportunities for learning both in and through the arts.
